Let us pray for our family.
2 Cor 5:17-21 "Brothers and sisters: Whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. And all this is from God,"
How true this is! When we look to God, and not ourselves, we see a NEW path - a NEW us. We are given the guidance and the strength to leave behind the old, and to embrace the NEW. We sometimes look back, and know we do not ever want to go back. We desire to remain NEW.
"So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us."
The gift of a NEW life is God saving our soul. He wants us to be united in Him. But, that gift was not just for us. We are called to share the NEW with others; to cooperate with God; to be His ambassadors.
In the book of Jos 5:9a, 10-12, the Israelites were entering a NEW land, the Promised land. In the Gospel of Lk 15:1-3, 11-32, Jesus offered a NEW teaching to the Pharisees through the story of the Prodigal Son; a young man who became NEW.
And now St. Paul has a NEW plea for us: "We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake He made Him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
Let us Resolve to respond to these messages, and the graces of Holy Communion in a NEW way!
