Rom 7:18-25a Brothers and sisters: I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh. The willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not. For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. So, then, I discover the principle that when I want to do right, evil is at hand. For I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self, but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Miserable one that I am! Who will deliver me from this mortal body? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
"For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want."
How often is that true? We end our day in prayer, we make our Examination of Conscience, and we resolve to do good the next day. We have good intentions and a plan- a Resolution!... Then our new day starts, and somewhere along, we falter. Our best intentions fall short. We sin. Is there no Hope? "Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord." If we start our day with a Morning Offering , and call to mind our Resolution and Pray, we are no longer trying to do it alone. We will now have Supernatural Help.
HE is GOD, i am not. HE is waiting to help, we just need to ask.
A prayer to THE HOLY SPIRIT, to Our Guardian Angel, to the Saint of the Day, to Our Blessed Mother - we have A LOT OF HELP. We just need to remember to ASK - to not try to do it on our own. HE is GOD, i am not.
"And looking at them Jesus said to them, 'With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" Matt 19:26
So, let's try a different approach today: Our Morning Offering, remember our Resolution as we spend time in Meditation, Ask GOD for help, then begin with Supernatural Help - things will go smoother, and more importantly, we will Console the Heart of Jesus.
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.
