Let us pray for the protection of our priests.
Ex 32:7-14 The LORD said to Moses, “I see how stiff-necked this people is. Let Me alone, then, that My wrath may blaze up against them to consume them. Then I will make of you a great nation.” But Moses implored the LORD, his God, saying, “Why, O LORD, should Your wrath blaze up against Your own people,...So the LORD relented in the punishment. Ps 106 Then He spoke of exterminating them, but Moses, His chosen one, withstood Him in the breach to turn back His destructive wrath.
Moses stood in the breach; Moses had learned to be a leader for God's people. Are we up to the same challenge? Each of us is called to be A Moses, in our own way. Some of us are called to heroic leadership, like our priests, and some of us are called to leadership in our everyday lives. Do we stand in the breach? Do we share God's truth with those we meet? Do we correct, with charity, as A Moses? Do we have the courage of Moses, to implore God to hold back His righteous anger against a fallen world? We all are called to be A Moses. When we stand before the Heavenly gates, let God say, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been A Moses for Me."
St. Isidore, pray for us.
