An 1/8 tsp or a Full cup?

Let us pray for someone who presents a great challenge to us. Let us love them, as God loves us.

Lk 6:27-38

“Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give, and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”

How do we MEASURE our lives? How much space do we make for God? And how much do we make for the world? Do we give God the full 1 cup measure? Or do we prefer to limit His influence to a mere 1/8 of a teaspoon?

God wants us to have ALL of Him, and He holds nothing back. We are reminded of that every time we gaze upon the crucifix. Whatever measure, whatever relationship we choose- 1/8 of a teaspoon or 1 cup, God will give "a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing."

Let us meditate on that: A measuring cup, filled to the brim, tapped on the counter to allow every space to be filled, then more added to the point of overflowing!

God will pack as much of Himself into us as we allow.

An 1/8 tsp or a Full cup?

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
