Church MILITANT, not church silent

Mk 5:1-20

As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed pleaded to remain with Him. But Jesus would not permit him but told him instead, “Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in His pity has done for you.” Then the man went off and began to proclaim in the Decapolis what Jesus had done for him; and all were amazed.

Many of us have been blessed with Spiritual fruits from a retreat or a conference, and we really want "to remain with Him", but we must return to our life, in a sinful world. Our personal encounter with God is often not meant for us alone. Jesus tells us too, "Go home to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in His pity has done for you.”

We, the church militant, are called to evangelize. We must never forget that! We are inspired, fed, healed, and then sent into the world to share what the Lord has done for us. And not just in our safe spots, but in the world; In all of those uncomfortable moments, at work, at school, at church and at home. Most of us are not called to stand before a large audience, but we are called to share with our neighbor- One on One. It can be awkward and embarrassing, so let us remember that their response is not our responsibility. Their response is the responsibility of the Holy Spirit. Our responsibility is to share. They cannot respond if they have not heard. We may be the ONE that God has placed in their life today.

Church MILITANT, not church silent.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
