Lk 11:1-13 “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
Earlier in this Gospel, Jesus is asked to teach the disciples how to pray. Jesus answers with the Lord's Prayer, but He doesn't stop there. He doesn't say, " Simply memorize and you'll be good." He then teaches HOW TO PRAY: ASK SEEK KNOCK
DO NOT just say words, ASK - "forgive us our sins" SEEK - "Father, hallowed be Your name" KNOCK - "Give us each day our daily bread"
DO NOT just say words, HAVE a conversation SHARE our desires and needs APPROACH with trust and humility
"how much more will the Father in heaven GIVE the HOLY SPIRIT to those who ask Him?”
"The Advocate, the HOLY SPIRIT that the Father will send in My name—He will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you" John 14:26
The Holy Spirit expands our hearts, our minds and our souls to be open to God’s graces, and He guides us on the Right path.
