Forgiveness

9th Promise of the Sacred Heart of Jesus: I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored.

Mt 6:7-15 “If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.”

Forgiveness is not always easy. Jesus forgave those who lied about and ridiculed Him. Jesus forgave those who beat and scourged Him. Jesus forgave those who crucified Him. Jesus teaches us to forgive ," forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us"

Forgiveness is not about excusing or about accepting. Sin is sin. Forgiveness is about OUR heart and soul. Forgiveness is about OUR relationship with God. Forgiveness is another example of how We are called To Be Different.

We are called to follow HIS example. We are called to Forgive as HE forgives. When we Forgive others, We are Forgiven by God. Forgiveness assists us on our journey HOME.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord

Today, let us ask God if there is someone we need to Forgive? Then, let us ask Him for the strength and courage to Forgive. Lord, help me to see them as YOU see them.
