Pray for those who are discerning the priesthood and the religious life.
Lk 6:36-38 Jesus said to his disciples: “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
“Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”
- a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, Can we see that? A baker taps a measuring cup on the counter, and then shakes it, so every possible space is filled. The measure is then truly full. Our Lord not only makes sure the measure He is giving us is Full, but He chooses to have it Overflow! When we give to the Lord, do we give our best? Do we just scoop something out and offer that as our gift, and figure that is good enough?
Let us desire, today, to give a Full measure that is Overflowing.
