2 Pt 1:16–19 You will do well to be attentive to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
We are told to develop a relationship with God, through Prayer and Adoration. As we begin this journey, it is a HEAD EXPERIENCE. We follow one of the disciplines of prayer, learning the steps: Ex. Begin with 15-20 minutes of daily prayer. Call upon the Holy Spirit to be your guide. Read the Gospel or the Psalm of the day Reflect on what you have read Relate the reading to your life - God, how does this affect me? Make a Resolution- one small, concrete way, from your reading, that you can bring God with you throughout your day. This begins as a HEAD EXPERIENCE.
Then, as we continue to follow the steps, we begin to internalize the steps. Slowly, we recognize God's voice, and this becomes a HEART EXPERIENCE. We have opened our HEARTS to God.
We have been ATTENTIVE to the LAMP, and let it DAWN IN OUR HEARTS.
