IS NOT ENOUGH

The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Mt 22:1-14 ...But when the king came in to meet the guests he saw a man there not dressed in a wedding garment. He said to him, ‘My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding garment?’ But he was reduced to silence. Then the king said to his attendants, ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’

Simply showing up for mass IS NOT ENOUGH. Sunday mornings can be busy - Do we stop to read the scriptures before attending mass? Do we arrive early, to prepare our hearts, minds and souls to be un the Presence of GOD? Do we think when we: enter church, bless ourselves with Holy Water, kneel before the LORD in the tabernacle? Do we Participate in mass- listening to the readings and the homily, meditating on the hymns as we sing, reverently approach the Communion rail, and allow GOD to speak to us as HE is united with us through the Eucharist? Do we offer a prayer of thanksgiving, for a few minutes after mass? Do we leave silently to honor those who are still praying? Do we make Sunday mass the pinnacle of our day, our week, our life? Simply showing up for mass IS NOT ENOUGH.

Jesus's warning is clear: "Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth."

Simply showing up for mass IS NOT ENOUGH.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.
