Let us offer reparation for offenses against the Blessed Sacrament.
Reparation is the repairing or making up for the offenses against God.
Having given us a free will, if we abuse that liberty, we must use our freedom to repay to God the love we have stolen from Him and repair the damage we have done. Justice requires reparation.
If a child breaks a vase, their apology is penance, but the vase is still broken. Justice requires reparation. The child needs to clean up the broken vase and possibly do chores to earn money and replace the vase. That is reparation.
We are our brother's keepers. We are to make reparation, not only for our sinful misdeeds, but for the sins of our country and, indeed, for the sins of the whole world.
"Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church" Col 1:24
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
