Pray for an end to abortion.
Jn 7:40-53 Some in the crowd who heard these words of Jesus said, “This is truly the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But others said, “The Christ will not come from Galilee, will He? Does not Scripture say that the Christ will be of David’s family and come from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”
Each person had their own opinion. Do we not do the same thing with church teachings? We each try to decide for ourselves what the church means. Are we God? The Lord left us a teaching authority- the Magisterium.
"By the Magisterium we mean the teaching office of the Church. It consists of the Pope and Bishops. Christ promised to protect the teaching of the Church : "He who hears you, hears Me; he who rejects you rejects Me, he who rejects Me, rejects Him who sent Me" (Luke 10. 16)...The day to day teaching of the Church throughout the world, when the Bishops are in union with each other and with the Pope, and present something as definitive, this is infallible. There is but ONE Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and we have been blessed to belong. We are blessed to have the full teaching.
Yes, we are to discern, prayerfully, and not follow blindly. But thankfully, we are not the authority. Let us search our hearts to see if there is any teaching with which we are struggling. Learn what The Church truly teaches, and then pray for the gift of obedience and perseverance.
HE is God, i am not.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
