We are to not only receive, but also to participate; to be in relationship.
In Lk 21:20-28, Jesus said'"...But when these signs begin to happen, STAND ERECT and RAISE YOUR HEADS because your redemption is at hand."
Participate, be in Relationship with Our Lord and we will Receive.
