OBSTACLE?

Mt 16:13-23 Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him, “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to You.” He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an OBSTACLE to Me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.”

Are we ever an OBSTACLE? Often an obstacle with the best intentions, but still an OBSTACLE? We are merely human, and so we are limited. Limited knowledge, Limited wisdom, Limited understanding... Thankfully, GOD has not left us to have to rely on ourselves. HE has left us Tradition, The Bible, The Magisterium, The Teaching Authority of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and HIS Priests. We Always have a source of HIS Truth, we need only to Trust. When we rely on ourselves, or when we rely on mere humans, we run the Real Risk of being an OBSTACLE. We run the Real Risk of having Jesus say to us, "Get behind me, Satan! " Pray, Read the Scriptures, and Trust the Teachings of the Catholic Church. If we rely on ourselves, we will be an OBSTACLE. If we rely on God, we will be on the path to being HIS saint.
