Today's Gospel reading, Lk 14: 25-33 and Psalm 27 work beautifully together.
"Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple." And "One thing I ask of the LORD; this I seek: To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, that I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD and contemplate his temple. The Lord is my light and my salvation."
Do I truly seek eternal life with God? Is there only ONE THING I ASK? If so, then Jesus has clearly shown the way. HE is the Way. John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
We MUST take up our cross, we Must die with Him, we Must follow only Him. His way is not easy, but it is Peace, it is Joy and it is the Only way to the Father.
Is God the ONLY thing I seek?
"One thing I ask of the LORD; this I seek: To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, that I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD"
