Mary stands in contrast to Zachariah, and King Ahaz.
Does she stand in contrast to us? Or is She our Example?
Lk 1:26-38 The angel Gabriel was sent from God... and the virgin’s name was Mary.
But she was greatly troubled ... and Pondered
“How can this be"
Luke 1: 11-20 the angel of the Lord appeared to him
Zechariah was troubled by what he saw, and FEAR came upon him.
“How shall I know this?
Is 7:10-14; 8:10
The LORD spoke to Ahaz saying: Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God;
But Ahaz answered, “I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!” Then Isaiah said:Listen, O house of David! Is it not enough for you to weary people, must you also weary my God?"
Mary and Zechariah were visited by an angel. Mary and Zechariah were troubled Mary Prayed - Zechariah Feared Mary Trusted - Zechariah Challenged
Mary Consoled God - King Ahaz Wearied God
God is talking to each of us today. Will we Pray or Fear? Will we Trust or Challenge? Will we Console or Weary?
Let us follow the example of Mary. Let us Pray, Trust and Console.
Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
