Mt 9:18-26 When Jesus arrived at the official’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd who were making a commotion, He said, “Go away! The girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. When the crowd was put out, He came and took her by the hand, and the little girl arose. And news of this spread throughout all that land.
AND THEY RIDICULED HIM. How often do we do that, when God's plan does not match ours? When His plan of Mercy does not match our plan of revenge? When His plan of Forgiveness does not match our plan of anger? How often do we RIDICULE HIM? We look back at these mourners and are confused by their response. Why would they RIDICULE the possibility of a healing? But in truth, when we have been injured by another, we do not always accept God's plan of healing through our forgiveness. We may RIDICULE HIM when we do not receive a physical healing, and we miss His Spiritual healing. We may RIDICULE HIM when His way does not match ours. As we recommit ourselves to God this day, let us remember- HE is God, i am not!
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation of sins, the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father this month. Amen.
