SCATTERED

Tobit 13

"Praise HIM, you children of Israel, before the Gentiles, for though HE has scattered you among them, HE has shown you HIS greatness even there."

A Gentile - a person who is not Jewish. GOD'S words are eternal. GOD'S words are not limited. Can these words from Tobit pertain to us? YES We are also, looking way back, children of Israel. Our Christian lineage began with a Jewish family. The Holy Family. And now we are Christian; the original Catholic Christians.

So, returning to the words from the Book of Tobit, " HE has scattered you among them, HE has shown you HIS greatness even there."

We Catholics have been scattered among THEM; Among other faiths, and among nonbelievers. We have been scattered, to bring HIS light, HIS love and HIS teachings to THEM. That is why we are here. That is why we have been scattered.

We have been blessed. HE has shown us HIS greatness in the EUCHARIST. HE has shown us HIS greatness in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic church. And "HE has shown (us) HIS greatness EVEN THERE." Even everywhere. Even with THEM.

So, PRAISE HIM. Love HIM. Share HIM. Live HIM. Be an example of HIM for THEM.
