Lk 4:38-44 At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place.
There is our example. Before we begin our day, we too need to go to a quiet place, a deserted place.
Just as when we walk through the doors of church, our whole being knows this is a sacred space - SOMETHING SPECIAL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN, so too, with our prayer space. We need a quiet place, maybe with a candle, a crucifix and/or an icon. A place that lets our whole being know that SOMETHING SPECIAL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. We are going to encounter GOD. We are going to invite HIM in and have a conversation with HIM. We are going to grow in relationship with HIM.
Jesus began HIS day in conversation with THE LORD, and so should we. We can offer HIM our day. We can pray specific intentions. We can ask HIM what HE desires from us this day. We can spend a few minutes, soaking in HIS Sacred word, and meditating with HIM.
This is how Jesus started HIS day, so surely it is the best way for us to begin ours.
Create a Sacred space. A place to encounter GOD every day. A place that lets our whole being know that SOMETHING SPECIAL IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.
