Lk 2:16-21
"The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger."
shepherds - average people lying in the manger - simple crib - easily approachable
"they made known the message that had been told them about this child."
made known - shared
"Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart."
reflecting - meditating
"Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen"
glorifying and praising - responding
"He was named Jesus"
The Son - The God-man
God makes Himself "approachable" to "average" people.
We are called to "meditate" on His word,
"respond to His word,
and to "share" His word.
Our Blessed Mother brings us "The God-man", and so we pray:
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Theotokos (God-bearer), Mother of God, pray for us
